I am so excited to have been acclaimed as the Director of Area G for the Regional District of Fraser Fort George.  I want to thank those who have encouraged me to run for the Electoral Area Director position, those who signed my papers and those who are supporting me in this grand adventure.

I am writing this today from and where I live, work and play on the territories traditional and unceded territory of the Lheidli T’enneh.

This land is often referred to as unceded territory which truly should be referred to as “taken without due course or agreement”.

Indigenous peoples are the spiritual and cultural keepers of their traditional lands and still to this day, they continue to practice their values, languages, beliefs and knowledge.

I am grateful for and pay respect for the privilege to be here today on this land and thank these peoples for their hospitality while I am here on what rightfully is their land.

Here is a brief introduction for those of you who don’t know me:

I am the proud mother of five beautiful children and 16 amazing grandkids, they are my heart. Family is very important to me. I am fortunate to be wife of a wonderful caring man who supports me in whatever I do.

I have been involved in local government politics at various levels since the early 2000’s including Tumbler Ridge Council and the Peace River Regional District as an Electoral Area Director. As you will see in the partial list below I have vast experience and am ready to take on any challenge. But I believe one of the things makes me a great choice for the position is because I have amazing  people in my life. I’m am fortunate to have amazing, supportive, influential and hard working people surrounding me…we are all Stronger Together!
